Christmas Island, ranked as the 12th most remote island in the world, is located 1300 miles south of Honolulu, Hawaii. Their life line to the world is a once a week flight to Fiji and Honolulu. There is also a once every three-month cargo ship to the same ports. Access to medical care is minimal and the Rotary Club of Sparks wants to help their hospital acquire badly needed equipment,
Serving the island population of 6,500 and the occasional tourist, is the London Town Hospital. This six bed hospital is staffed full time by three physicians and an anesthesiologist that live on the island. The hospital does an incredible job of serving the isolated island population with very little in the way of resources and supplies.
Of the estimated $10,900 budget for this campaign to purchase a sterilizer, new flooring and a computer, $4000 has already been donated by the Rotary Club of Sparks, leaving a balance of $6,900. Your tax-deductible donation will make a big difference.

If Funding Goal is Exceeded:
We will be able to buy additional hospital supplies that are needed and used by the hospital like medicines, sutures and instruments.
If Funding Goal is Not Met:
With the hospital, we have prioritized the equipment and supplies with the sterilizer being the most wanted piece of equipment. We will deliver based on what we raise.
